TWVC is a nonprofit organisation supporting entrepreneurship in developing countries. We believe that helping entrepreneurs to realise their ideas, and in turn create job opportunities for others, is the most sustainable way to improve conditions in the developing world. Founded in 2006, TWVC was one of the first firms to apply a venture capital approach to international development – combining investments and loans with professional business advice and resources.

TWVC currently supports over ten ventures in five countries on two continents, and all returns are recycled into new investments – supporting the development of financially sustainable businesses.

TWVC to support mobile banking in Kenya
Safaricom, the leading mobile network operator in Kenya, has developed a mobile banking service that allows Kenyans to transfer money via SMS. TWVC will help local entrepreneurs extend the network of retail outlets across the country.
